Travel & Everyday / Buying guide
Quick answer. Use regular cubes to group items. Consider compression cubes if bulky clothes are the problem.
Decide what you want to fix
If you lose track of outfits or laundry, a regular cube makes it easier to group things. If bulky soft clothing is the issue, a compression cube can change the space it takes up. Compressing clothes does not make them weigh less.
Measure the packed shape
Measure around the suitcase’s wheel housing, handle rails and divider. A cube can be thin in the middle and thick along the zipper. Put a folded stack of clothes of roughly the same size in your bag and check the remaining room for shoes, toiletries and other firm items.
Try one before buying a set
Pack one cube for a short trip and notice how often you unzip it. If you reach for the contents every day, a wider opening can make more difference than a slightly tighter fit. Leave a little spare space for laundry or items you collect on the trip.
